PEE-WEE TAKES NEW YORK

Our last post featured a photo I found online of Pee-wee Herman riding a subway car in New York with no explanation. Now we know the rest of the story. Pee-wee has a Broadway show!

Pee-wee Herman, real name Paul Reubens, has a new Broadway show and he is hitting the streets to promote it. The comedian and TV star has started a self-hosted tour of New York City, visiting its most famous of sights.

Pee-wee recently appeared on the renowned Regis & Kelly program in hopes of promoting his unexpected return to entertainment on Broadway.

The bus tour takes New York visitors all about, beginning at the Intercontinental Hotel in Times Square, and going from the Upper West Side over to the Lincoln Square American Folk Art Museum. Next, it heads off to Brooklyn Bridge before finally concluding at "M&M World."

The Broadway show he has been promoting is to be aptly named The Pee Wee Herman Show, and will begin its 10-week run in just a few weeks on October 26 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

The show will be a stage comedy/play with music, featuring Pee-wee Herman, played by Paul Reubens, and many other members of the TV show "Pee-wee's Playhouse" such as Mailman Mike, played by John Moody; Miss Yvonne, played by Lynne Marie Stewart; and Cowboy Curtis, played by Phil Lamarr.

Most ticket prices are between $66 to $122, though premium seats are available from $177 to $227.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to book a trip to New York.
