WONDER WOMAN KNIT WIT

I hope yarn deflects bullets. Chris Wass decided to knit a Wonder Woman costume complete with bracelets and tiara. It took her 6 weeks.

I started knitting this Wonder Woman costume to wear to the San Diego Comic-Con in July (2008), but escalated production when my friend decided to throw a costume birthday party for me at the end of June. I made up my own pattern for the bodysuit embellished with star and eagle motifs, wristbands and headband. It took me about 6 weeks, finished the night before the party! I'm happy with the results. Hope that you think that it's fun too!

BROOKS WAS HERE

Actor James Whitmore died Friday, February 06, 2009, of lung cancer. A star of stage, screen and television, the Emmy and Tony Award winning actor died in his Malibu home at the age of 87.

Whitmore appeared in Gunsmoke, Rawhide, Shane, The Greatest Show on Earth, Bonanza, Planet of the Apes and many more. He's most remembered as Brooks from the film, The Shawshank Redemption.

Whitmore is survived by his third wife, Noreen, as well as three sons and eight grandchildren.

MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 2 TRAILER

I loved Marvel's Civil War. It was, by far, the most creative idea Marvel Comics has ever come up with and made for great reading. In case you missed it, here's a brief summary.

Public sentiment turned against super heroes due after a terrible accident. The United States government decides to enact a Superhuman Registration Act, requiring all super heroes to register with the government as a "human weapon of mass destruction", reveal his/her secret identity and undergo proper training. This caused a major split among super heroes with some believing the registration as a responsible obligation and others opposing the law on the grounds that it violates civil liberties and the protection that secret identities provide.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 brings the story straight to a new video game, with a new trailer online. The game is due Fall 2009.

7 SECRETS ABOUT DISNEYLAND

Gudrun Enger has a friend who works at Disneyland and knows a few secrets about the park.

The drawbridge in front of the Castle is actually a working drawbridge, and has only been lowered twice in its entire life. Once on opening day, and once again in the 80’s when Fantasyland had a major refurbishment and reopened to the guests.

Just above the drawbridge as you enter Fantasyland, you will see a crest on the castle. That is the Disney Family crest.

Main Street is set in 1901, and represents Marceline, Missouri, Walt’s boyhood town.
