BREAKING BAD SEASON 4 TRAILER
AMC released a trailer for the fourth season of Breaking Bad. It's just a teaser trailer, featuring footage from previous seasons, but it's good to know the wait for new episodes is almost over. Breaking Bad will premiere at 10pm on July 17th, 2011.
DEADPOOL IN WASHINGTON
Wenatchee, Washington has it's very own superhero: Deadpool. And when he's not cracking wise, he's putting up flyers and offering to save the day via e-mail (ncwdeadpool@hotmail.com). The flyers serve to inform the community not to be alarmed, he's here to help and is not the mercenary from the comic books. "Because I allied with his humor and his ideal that what once was bad can become something better and good... And not his outlook on heroism or his methods."
In fact, this superhero wants to cooperate with the law, he is "not actively seeking out crime. Should I witness a crime in progress or one that just occurred, I will do my civil duty by calling the police and placing the criminal under citizen’s arrest until the police have arrived. I only mean to help the community, not to stir up more trouble than I seek to relieve. The police have enough trouble without a superhero taking the law into his own hands.”

The Old Spice commercial guy, Isaiah "I'm on a horse" Mustafa, really wants to be Luke Cage. If he's so dedicated, where's the tiara?
100 YEARS OF VINCENT PRICE
Vincent Price would have been 100 years on May 27th of this year. Artist Zach Bellissimo drew 100 characters Vincent Price played in films to celebrate the occassion. Each drawing is on a sticky note and captures the spirit of the many multifaceted roles Vincent Price portrayed. Bellissimo writes,
"The first Price movie I ever saw was "The Great Mouse Detective" (said to have been his favorite role) but of course being a little kid I didn't care who did the voice. I was in middle school when I saw "The Raven" on AMC when they used to play classic horror movies on Friday nights. My dad told me about him and I eventually recognized his voice and linked it to Ratigan. I was very amazed that such an actor who was mostly known for his horror roles would step out of that and do light and funny roles too…and succeed at it! Thats my favorite thing about Vincent, always mixing horror and comedy.
For the past week in his home town of Missouri, they've been having a festival in his honor called Vincentennial. I really wanted to go but there was no way, but it feels good to atleast do artwork in his honor.
Thank you for bringing us such great fright, laughs and all around joy from your films and warm, charismatic personality. Happy Birthday, Vincent. You're a great inspiration to me and it would have been a life long dream for me to meet you. But I hope that if there is an afterlife that I can meet you there. Goodbye so soon and rest in peace."

HARRY POTTER: THROUGH THE PENSIEVE
Youtube user Genrocks created Harry Potter: Through the Pensieve, a 4-minute retrospective of the Harry Potter film series. Genrocks writes:
"Over the years, the Harry Potter series has had a very special place in my heart. With the final film coming out in 50 days, I thought it would be a good time to look back at the journey we've taken with the film versions of JK Rowling's unforgettable characters. A retrospective spanning all eight films, this tells the story of the bravery of children, the folly of the powerful, and the overriding force of love."
DOCTOR WHO NINTENDO STYLE
YouTube user DoctorOctoroc created this Nintendo style introductory theme for a Doctor Who game. The game doesn't exist but that won't stop us from enjoying this fun video.

GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE
Conjoined 4 year-old twins Tatiana and Krista Hogan from British Columbia, joined at the skull, may share information between their brains.
"Their brain images reveal what looks like an attenuated line stretching between the two organs called a thalamic bridge, which may link the thalamus of one girl to the thalamus of her sister.
The thalamus is a kind of switchboard, a two-lobed organ that filters most sensory input and has long been thought to be essential in the neural loops that create consciousness. Because the thalamus functions as a relay station, the girls’ doctors believe it is entirely possible that the sensory input that one girl receives could somehow cross that bridge into the brain of the other. So if one girl drinks, the other feels it."
Doctors and scientists will study the girls as they grow and a documentary by National Geographic is underway.

WORST MARVEL TEAM-UP EVER
First of all, let me apologize for this post but somethings are such train wrecks, you can't help but stare. The unwatchable American Idol teams up with unlistenable U2 members, Bono and The Edge, to promote the unimaginable musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. If you can suffer long enough to the end of this clip, you'll witness how the show can't even recreate the famous Spider-Man upside-down kiss with the also unlistenable Jennifer Lopez filling-in as Mary Jane Watson.
ARIEL'S UNDERSEA ADVENTURE VIDEO
The Little Mermaid ride "Ariel's Undersea Adventure" is now open at Disneyland. Asianjma123 give us a video of the full ride and the Audio-Animatronics amazing! Watch now because this clip is sure to be pulled soon.

BATMAN WANTS TO TURN OFF THE DARK
Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is still schedule to go ahead, despite on-set injuries and critical pans. And now Batman is set to join the stage in Batman Live, a "theatrical extravaganza of thrilling stunts, acrobatic acts and illusions." A trailer has been released for the production, and here's the bad news: It's a musical. Oh well, at least the costumes don't look too bad.

WHO WEARS SHORT SHORTS?
Wonder Woman wears short shorts! The new tv show adaption of Wonder Woman, starring Adriane Palicki, was officially axed by NBC, which leaves our only hope of watching the pilot episode is to buy a bootleg at comic book convention. Fan outcry over the new tv costume with the blue pants was quickly heard by Hollywood and changed. She would still wear the pants but also sport a total of three different versions of the costume, including the traditional shorts. Wonder Woman TV gives us our first official look at the Adriane Palicki wearing the costume with the star-spangled shorts.
I was hoping the series could be saved, but with David E. Kelley in charge, the show was doomed to fail. Here's hoping we'll see Wonder Woman on the small screen and big screen soon.
STAR WARS BRANDS

NEW GREEN LANTERN TRAILER
A new trailer for Green Lantern is online. While it does look better and features the Green Lantern Corps, it still looks too much like a cartoon for me. Oh, and the costume still looks terrible.

ENERGIZED SPIDER-MAN
In 1978, Remco released Energized Spider-Man that was able to "climb", "lift" and even ride a helicopter standing up! (Spider-Copter sold separately) Spider-Man's adversary, Green Goblin, was "Energized" too, and could cut through Spider-Man's webbing. Energized Spider-Man was so popular, eventually an Incredible Energized Hulk followed, with DC characters licensed next. Energized Superman had a retractable fly wire while Energized Batman had a bat-grapple.
The Energized Spider-Man goes for quite a bit these days, well over $100.00 in the original box, which is beyond my budget for a toy. Occasionally I see a battered and beaten one at an antique shop or flea market. Still, I did finally get a Mego Spider-Man for a good price after years of searching. And searching is half the fun.
