2010 CINESCAPE
It's that time of year when we start seeing video montages highlighting the best films of the year. These videos are a love/hate thing with me. I love that the videos are so well done, reminding me of some of my favorite cinematic moments of the year, but I also hate them because they can make bad movies look so good. Plus, it reminds me of all the movies I haven't seen and desperately want to catch a screening sometime soon.
Matthew Shapiro's 2010 Cinescape is an example of how wonderful movies are and should be. It's his fifth video, this time using a song by The Killers, "A Dustland Fairytale".
"I am a huge believer in the notion that while some films may be for adults and others for kids, and while some films may be of higher quality than those aimed at the lowest common denominator, escaping into the world of a film is a universal experience that we all crave, no matter who we are or how greatly our tastes differ. The goal of this video is to at least begin to capture the essence of what that lose-yourself-to-film feeling is like...and to show just how many kick-ass movies 2010 gave us (because it's pretty easy to forget)."

STAR WARS: ATTACK OF THE MODELS!
With a little bit of help, Luke Skywalker can become an intergalactic model!
SPIDER-MAN'S SECRET IDENTITY EXPOSED ON TV
Sure it's a lame bit for Jimmy Kimmel Live! but Kimmel exposes Spider-Man's secret identity to all the world. J. Jonah Jameson is going to be so pissed he didn't get the scoop.

HOT CHICKS IN BATMAN SHIRTS
Forget about plastic surgery, ladies! Just put on your favorite Batman shirt and greatly enhance your appearance. It seems there's a blog for everything, including women wearing Batman shirts and other Bat-Garments, which only goes to prove that the internet is awesome! See more here.

STAR WARS CHRISTMAS
No, it's not the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special. The band Sci-Fried has a new song, "Star Wars Christmas" and it's vastly superior than watching Bea Arthur as Ackmena, the Cantina nightshift bartender.

CONAN O'BRIEN MAKES FUN OF DC SUPERHEROES
Ah, it's so easy to do. DC Comics titles are terrible. Remember Final Crisis? I'm still trying to wipe that fiasco from my mind. And the Warner Bros films make it even easier. Just look at Superman Returns or Jonah Hex. Yes, we all know DC sucks and Conan proves it by pointing out some very lame DC superheroes.
TWO-HEADED TURTLE
Visitors at a nature park in Turkey have been treated to a very rare sight - conjoined turtle twins.A two-headed turtle has amazed visitors of a nature reserve in the eastern province of Izmir in Turkey. The month-old turtle was found in the backyard of a house in the eastern province of Manisa and was immediately taken to the nature reserve park.
According to the state-run Anatolian news agency, the turtle is a spur-thighed tortoise, a species which can live up to 75 years old.
BLACK SWAN/SHOWGIRLS MASH-UP
Jeffrey McHale did a mash-up of Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan with the insufferable Showgirls. It's funny stuff but not safe for work.

NEW MOM WITH NO LEGS AND ONE ARM
From the Orange News:
A woman born with no legs and only one arm is getting used to caring for her new baby. Melek, 24, and boyfriend Mehmet are overjoyed with their son Semih, who is now nine-months-old. The couple first met when they were 14, introduced by family friends after Mehmet moved to Denmark from Turkey, and slowly fell in love.
"I have had a lot of other girlfriends but never felt for anyone like I do for Melek," Mehmet said.
The pair became lovers when they were 18; later moving in together before getting married in Turkey two years ago, though their union isn't recognised in Denmark.
Melek said: "We always wanted children and we were so happy when we found out I was pregnant. I took the test five or six times."
However, both doctors and Melek's family were concerned about how her body would respond to, not to mention cope with, being pregnant. She was determined to give birth naturally but the decision was taken out of her hands when her waters unexpectedly broke.
Semih was born by caesarean section, weighing a healthy 8lb 6oz, the next morning with Melek under a general anaesthetic as doctors were unable to administer an epidural. But since leaving hospital it has been a sharp learning curve for the new mother, and Mehmet, as she is still learning how to handle the baby.
Melek added: "Family and friends have all said that they will be happy to help. We hope to get a bigger apartment that has a lift, a room for the baby and space for our dog Chanel."
EVERY ZOMBIE DEATH IN THE WALKING DEAD
AMC's The Walking Dead is a good television show but doesn't feature nearly enough zombies, in my opinion. And to prove it, here's a video featuring every zombie death in chronological order from the series. In a world that's gone to hell and being overrun with zombies, 42 zombie deaths doesn't seem like much.
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 4 TRAILER
The new trailer for the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides is online. Personally, I'm glad to see Geoffrey Rush in the latest sequel and even happier for the absence of Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly.
THIS IS THE OTHER DROID I WAS LOOKING FOR
Earlier we reported on the RD-D2 bathing suit available through Black Milk, now they've unveiled a new C-3PO bathing suit. For only $85.00 you can turn the heads of men and become an instant nerdy sex symbol.
FILMOGRAPHY 2010
As the year comes to an end, we can reflect on the films of 2010 thanks to this video. Using clips from 270 movies, editor Gen Ip created a montage showcasing some of the best cinematic moments of the last year.

SUCKER PUNCH FEATURETTE
A new featurette for Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch is online. It's not much more than an extended trailer but still I'll take what I can get until the movie is in theaters.
THOR TRAILER
I know I'm late with this but just in case you haven't already seen it, the official Thor trailer is online. And boy, does it look great!
THE FILMS OF EDGAR WRIGHT
Scott Pilgrim vs the World was the best film of 2010; a unique, funny movie that was unlike anything else I'd ever seen and made Edgar Wright one of my favorite directors. I'm a big fan of Shaun of the Dead as well, as is Joel Walden who create this tribute to the director.
