We get a better look at Spidey's costume from Sony's upcoming reboot of The Amazing Spider-Man and wow, this looks worse than ever.  The whole thing is a mess but Spider-Man wearing tennis shoes?  Maybe that's why the costume looks like a basketball.

Someone noticed the teaser trailer for Sony's reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man, looked a lot like the trailer for the video game, Mirror's Edge.  In fact, it looked exactly like the trailer for Mirror's Edge.  Check it out for yourself.

Gee, didn't I see everything exactly like this in the first movie?  Let's see, Peter in a lab, gets bitten by a spider, runs around on the rooftops of New York City with point-of-view shots from swinging on a web.  Yep, exactly like the original movie.  Oh, but there is a slight difference, in this new one Spider-Man's costume looks like a basketball.

Or "The Amazing Spider-Basketball."  Entertainment Weekly has exclusive photos from the upcoming Spider-Man reboot and once again Hollywood screws-up another superhero costume.  And we thought the Green Lantern costume looked bad!   At least GL didn't look like a piece of sports equipment or wear goofy hats.  If you want to be further repulsed, SlashFilm has more photos.

Sony officially released the new title of their upcoming Spidey movie, The Amazing Spider-Man, along with a new photo. The title is ironic since the costume looks so different from the comic book version. I realize not everything from comic books can translate to film well and I'm glad to see the web shooters but the costume is a wreck. And are those yellow eyes?!? Sigh. Maybe it's not as bad as the costumes from the Catwoman movie or upcoming Green Lantern film but this is pretty weak. I wouldn't bet against a Green Goblin that looks like he's from the Broadway version.
