LITTLE MERMAID REUNION

Disney's The Little Mermaid is a masterpiece and one of my favorite movies. Released in 1989, it's one of the best movies Disney has ever produced, a beautiful, moving story and the last Disney animated film to use hand-painted cels.

Cartoon Brew has a report that ASIFA-Hollywood is organizing a reunion/panel discussion/party to commemorate the 20th anniversary of The Little Mermaid on May 21, 2009 at Woodbury Univeristy in Burbank, California.
Character animator Tom Sito will moderate a panel consisting of Mark Henn (Ariel), Andreas Deja (King Triton), Ruben Aquino (Ursula), Tina Price (CAPS system and early CGI) and Gary Trousedale (storyboards) - with many more guests and panelists to be announced.
Trivia: Although others had been nominated, The Little Mermaid was the first Disney film to receive an Academy Award since the 1971 movie, Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
