FROM THE COLLECTION: THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH MAIN ENTRANCE

I picked up this tiny photo years ago in a small collection of circus snapshot photos. This was the best one out of the set and the main reason I bought the photos. I've never seen a circus inside a tent but I often imagine what it must have been like to see such an enormous circus like Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey in those days. The photo is dated August 1942 but doesn't give a location.

Here in Germany we almost only have circus inside a tent. They move from town to town and set up large tents for a couple of weeks. Only in winter time they hibernate in a location with buildings. So on your next European vacation you should plan to visit Zirkus Roncalli oder Zirkus Krone.

Thanks, Marco. I've only seen the circus in large auditoriums. Next time I'm in Europe, I'll definitely check out the circus there.
