THE KINKY SIDE OF SUPERMAN
You've never seen Superman like this! Recently discovered risque artwork by comic book artist, Joe Shuster, co-creator of Superman, has been collected and published in Secret Identity: The Fetish Art of Superman's Co-creator Joe Shuster by Craig Yoe. Shuster and his partner Jerry Siegel had previously sold the rights to Superman for $130. The creative duo were replaced by DC Comics with other artists and writers taking over the title, leaving both of them destitute. Desperate, Shuster began illustrating for a racy publication called Nights of Horror, which were later banned by the U.S. Senate. Yoe theorizes that Shuster purposely drew the lusty characters to resemble Clark Kent and a super-endowed Lois Lane as an act of vengeance. Some feel that these illustrations are among Shuster's finest work. With an introduction by Stan Lee, Secret Identity: The Fetish Art of Superman's Co-creater Joe Shuster is an incredible find of historic significance to comic books and American illustration.
You can see examples of Shuster's work here and order your own copy online.
