Ever since discovering Scopitones, I've been hooked. In case you missed my previous post, Scopitones, created in France, were short-lived video jukeboxes popular in the 1960's and the predecessor to music videos.
The music films had fun (sometimes bizarre) music and usually featured dancing women in skimpy outfits. Bikinis seem pretty standard in these films. There was more serious fare, such as Liz Brady, but mostly it was catchy, silly songs.
It's time to share the wonder of Scopitones with a new weekly feature: Scopitones Saturday. This week features the Greenwood County Singers "Cake Walkin' Baby".
You may not like all the songs but I hope you enjoy the posts and get hooked just like I did on Scopitones.
