KING LEONIDAS NEEDS A NEW AGENT

My local comic books shop is a great place with a new freebie nearly every week. Last week saw free tickets to the new movie, The Ugly Truth, starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. After Gerard Butler's performance in the film, 300, I thought we'd be seeing him in more action roles but instead he appears in a predictable, by-the-numbers romantic comedy with Sandra Bullock wannabe Katherine Heigl. Heigl should be relegated to infomercials, not appearing on the big screen and Gerard Butler needs a new agent. The ugly truth is, despite the state of our economy, not one person took a free ticket to see this movie.

Perhaps you aren't aware that Gerry will be appearing in Gamer in September and in Law Abiding Citizen next spring. Why should he limit himself to just action films when he has the acting chops to do anything? It takes little acting ability for those types of roles and he is capable of covering every movie genre.

Thanks for the comment, Suzy. I'm aware he has other movies coming up and it's good to try different genres but it says a lot when you can't give away free tickets to a movie. I just think he deserves to be in better films with quality scripts, not stuff like this.

I know what you mean. I hope he doesn't do a lot of movies like this.

He deserves much better films than this.

K & S,
He deserves to do anything he wants
to do. He is the consumate actor,
he can do it all, and make every character to takes on believable.
He WAS King Leonidas, he WAS Phantom in Phantom of the Opera, he
WAS Johnny in The Jury, he WAS
Gerry in PS I Love You, AND HE IS
Mike in The Ugly Truth.
Why would you have him type cast into any one genre? Why would you
deprive the world oh this wonderful, flexible talent.
I have loved each of his characters
because he brings so much to them.
He can make your spirit fly and break your heart with just one glance from those beautiful green
eyes, because he BECOMES each and
every character.
Everyone who doubts this man's
unfathomable talent should go see
this movie. He takes a rough,
unbelievably crass character and
turns him into the most lovable
person you have ever felt sorry for. TRUE TALENT. Beautiful job.
AS USUAL.
Love him absolutely,
Sandy

Wow, thanks for such a great comment, Sandy. I agree he is very talented and I hope to see him in many more films. I don't want him to stick with just one genre, I just want to see him in quality films with co-stars of equal talent. Katherine Heigl is nowhere near his level of acting skill. I can't wait to see what he does with future roles.
