JUST LISTEN: HOT CLUB OF COWTOWN

It all started in the mid-'90's with a simple advertisement in New York City's The Village Voice. Elana James was looking to join a band and answered Whit Smith's ad. She went to his East Village apartment and rocked out for the evening. Hot Club of Cowtown was born and the rest is history.

Over a decade later, the band is still touring and the best Western Swing trio around, releasing 6 CD's, including the twenty-year retrospective, The Best of Hot Club of Cowtown, from Shout! Factory.

During a two-year hiatus, the band went their separate ways but reunited in 2008 to tour and begin work on a new album of original material to be released later this year.

With their roots in jazz, Americana music, folk music as well as vintage pop, they continue evolve their signature sound. Elana James on violin, Whit Smith on guitar, Jake Erwin on bass and all three providing vocals, the group serves that swinging sound harder than ever.
