POWER GIRL COVER ART

DC Comics unveiled the cover for Power Girl #3 along with the sketch for the first issue cover art. Earlier this month, DC Comics gave readers a taste of the upcoming Power Girl series, teasing with a 7 page sneak peek. Color me unimpressed. I like Amanda Conner's art in general. It's cartoony, silly and fun, perfect for such projects as The Pro, but look at Power girl's face in the color piece above. Is she supposed to be a drag queen? I was hoping for something better, artwork that would give the series more serious and realistic look. Instead the fans are left with yet another slapstick super heroine series. I guess it's too much to ask for a powerful female character to be taken seriously in her own comic book series.

I totally agree with you.

Thanks, Keith. I guess I just had higher expectations for the series. You would think by now I wouldn't have my hopes up for anything released by DC Comics these days.
